MIAMI, FLA. (January 22, 2012) – Life in Miami’s always-bustling Coconut Grove neighborhood was punctuated today by the added activity of 529 sailors from 41 countries preparing for tomorrow’s start of US Sailing’s Rolex Miami OCR. The six-day annual regatta, which will be sailed on Biscayne Bay for its 23rd time, is the second of seven 2011-2012 ISAF Sailing World Cup regattas and, as such, plays host to elite sailors from around the globe, with an emphasis on those preparing for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are in full swing on registration for this year’s US Sailing Rolex Miami OCR. The ISAF 2011-2012 Sailing World Cup will be filled with excitement as sailors returning from the ISAF Combined World Championship in Perth, Australia will have their first chance in 2012 to size up the competition. The calendar year of 2012 is a big one and Miami, Florida is a great place to spend January, tuning up your boat and racing in one of the best Olympic One-Design regatta in the world.

January 23-28, 2012, for six days of elite-level competition among the world’s top Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls. Event organizers have posted the Notice of Race at the event website RMOCR.ussailing.org. Online registration opens October 12, 2011 for competitors and coaches and ends on January 9, 2012.
