Light Miami Monday

Racing was set to get underway at ISAF Sailing World Cup Miami at 10:00 local time on Monday 27 January. However, the AP flag went up at 8:55 am due to insufficient wind on Biscayne Bay.

Registration concluded on Sunday with 580 sailors from 50 nations sailing in ten Olympic and three Paralympic events.

Conditions on the opening day are set to challenge the sailors with light breeze on the agenda.

The Men’s 470 was scheduled to kick racing off at 10:00 local time, shortly followed by the Women’s 470 at 10:15 and the breeze is set to come from a southerly direction at around 4 knots with gusts of 6 knots ensuring a tricky start to proceedings.

The RS:X fleets, Laser, 49erFX and Nacra 17 were scheduled to get underway with the breeze set to continue at around 4 knots.

Stand by for more updates on today’s racing schedule.
