MIAMI, Fla. (January 27, 2013) – For the 24th time in ISAF Sailing World Cup Miami history, excellence in Olympic and Paralympic class racing will take place on the emerald waters of Biscayne Bay. This six-day regatta gets underway on Monday, with over 300 of the best sailors in the World representing 35 countries. Miami, Fla., USA (January 23, 2013) – An impressive collection of the best Olympic and Paralympic class sailors in the world will take their talents to Biscayne Bay in the second of four stops of the 2012-2013 ISAF Sailing World Cup. Racing at this world class five-day regatta begins on Monday, January 28 and concludes Saturday, February 2. Over 300 sailors representing 35 countries are expected to participate.
News for competitors: Registration will open at 1:00 pm, Sunday, January 27, 2013 and close at 5:00 pm due to the Miami Marathon. Please see the Notice for details.
A Notice to Competitors has been issued and posted on the Online Notice Board. The online registration deadline has been extended to January 26. Additionally, the Skud-18 class is cancelled and entry fees will be refunded. Please see the full Notice for additional information.
North America’s Premier Regatta Olympic and Paralympic Class Racing Set for January, 2013
Portsmouth, R.I. (November 19, 2012) – US Sailing’s premier competition for Olympic and Paralympic class sailboat racing returns to Miami, Fla. January 27 – February 2, 2013. Now known as the ISAF Sailing World Cup Miami, the regatta serves up six days of elite-level competition in the 13 sailing events selected for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. MIAMI, Fla. (November 5, 2012) – Set to be held at US Sailing Center Miami from 26 January to 2 February 2013, the regatta will form part of the ISAF Sailing World Cup until 2016 and will be the second stop in the 2012-2013 series following on from Melbourne, Australia and preceding Palma, Spain and Hyeres, France. MIAMI, FLA. (January 28, 2012) – In the lightest breezes yet over six days of sailing on Biscayne Bay, ten Olympic classes racing in US Sailing’s Rolex Miami OCR still managed to put on quite a show as they competed in their final medal races to determine gold, silver and bronze winners. Following the same format as the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics, the event also hosted three Paralympic classes (which determined medal winners yesterday) and a total of 529 sailors from 41 countries.
